Eddie's take on it

This is the best telephoto zoom for 4/3. If you want a super sharp telephoto zoom lens, get this one.

It occupies a spot in the lens lineup that is hard to beat. It is sharp, yet isn't as ridiculously sized and priced as the larger 90-250mm f/2.8, yes, it doesn't have the same f/2.8 aperture, but 200mm @f/3.5 is still very good. It works very well with the EC-14 teleconverter, not so much with the EC-20.

At the same time, the pictures coming out of this lens are just sharper and look crispier than any of the cheaper telephoto zooms.

Autofocus is best out of all 4/3 telephotos.

Since this lens occupies such a sweet spot in the lens lineup, it is still in use by quite a lot of m4/3 users. There isn't really any m4/3 lens that can deliver quite the same range, sharpness and brightness as this lens for this kind of a price (~$300-$450). Thus it is still in demand, if you want a cheaper option, look for the older 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5.
